The question for quite a while, and what was considered to be the move that might start a landslide of other moves in conference realignment was Mizzou moving the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Sources have said that Mizzou had completed the move on Friday, but that they decided to not announce it yet, as they did not want to take away the spotlight from the LSU (ranked #1) and Alabama (ranked #2) football game. That game happens to be dubbed one of the best games ever in college football history, and happens to be between teams in the SEC. It sounds like Mizzou was showing some courtesy to their future conference by delaying this agreement.
If this announcement is true, that means the Big 12 will be minus one more school and probably will need to move quickly to add more schools. Of course the Big East which may be down to 5 football schools will also be looking for schools to join their conference. This may mean a mass of exodus of schools moving to and from.
I’ll keep everyone posted on how this turns out.
